Biography

Shalni Sanjana attained her Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Science with a Biology emphasis from the University of the South Pacific in 2008. After completion of her studies she worked as a Research Assistant for the Geography Department at the University of the South Pacific working on Geoarchaeological Research Projects under the supervision of Professor Patrick Nunn and Kasey Robb. She has also undertaken geoarchaeological field research work in Samoa. She has also presented at one of the International Conference held in Hanoi, Vietnam on fortifications associated with the AD 1300 Event. Shalni then joined Research Office in 2011 as a Research Assistant. She recently co-authored a research article on “Human- Mediated Prehistoric Marine Extinction in the Tropical Pacific? Understanding the Presence of Hippopus hippopus (Linn.1758) in Ancient Shell Middens on the Rove Peninsula, Southwest Viti Levu Island, Fiji” which featured in Geoarchaeology: An International Journal.
